Every single month, we come together as a community to read through a script together! It may be a brand-new script, an old classic, a musical, or an original by a local playwright. If you would like to read, roles are randomly assigned (or requested, if you have a dream role you'd love to play). Don't feel like reading out loud this month? Come on out just to listen! New people are always welcome.
At Bramble, we care about creating opportunities for more people to be involved in theatre. Script reads are our most consistent, low-barrier, accessible way that we do this. To be updated about upcoming script reads join our mailing list and follow us on Instagram.

Our next script read is happening on Monday, June 29th at 7:00 pm, with doors opening at 6:45! This month's script read will be held at the BMO Theatre Centre (162 W 1st Ave); the RSVP page will be available shortly.
This month's script is Constellations by Nick Payne.
One relationship. Infinite possibilities. In how many universes would you love someone? Nick Payne's Olivier award-winning Constellations is a play about free will and friendship; it's about quantum multiverse theory, love, and honey. Roland is a beekeeper, Marianne is a quantum physicist. What are their odds of falling in love? With infinite moments that can change the trajectory of a life, it's anyone's guess how cosmic collision is possible. This play moves from the question of "what if" to a poignant picture of "what is."
Script reads are a way to get to know new plays, meet people, and stay engaged with your acting in a relaxed environment! At Bramble, we hope to create ways for people to keep engaging with theatre outside of working on shows.
Everyone is welcome - bring a device to read off of and come on out to read a script with us.
